Job description

RESULTS/OUTPUTS:

  • Responsible for obtaining supply requisitions and packing and storing of such.
  • Aids Chef by performing such duties as stirring soups and sauces, watching roasts, preparing meats, fish, vegetables for mis-en-place.
  • Ensures that all cooking operations, as directed by Chef’s, are carried out to required standard, with emphasis on hygiene, presentation and economy.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly working area to the highest hygiene level.
  • May work in all areas of the Kitchen in order to gain exposure to different functions so as to eventually be able to perform the tasks carried out by qualified cooks.
  • May prepare fish/meat dishes, before service and serve dishes from the pass.
  • May be called upon to perform comparable duties as requested by the Executive Sous/Sous Chef.
  • To have a good knowledge of all facilities of the property.
  • To maintain at all times the highest standard of personal hygiene, appearance and social skills.
  • To work in harmony with all staff and departments in the hotel.
  • To attend and be attentive to training as and when required.
  • To be familiar with the staff handbook and adhere to fire and safety procedures.
  • To perform any other duties as directed by his immediate supervisor.To be available to work overtime when requested.

    Ability to commute/relocate:

    • Manama: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
